Is tooth whitening safe?

How long is the procedure?
Generally, the in-office tooth whitening process takes less than an hour. The BriteSmile whitening process itself takes only about twenty minutes, but there is some prep time involved and some after-care Dr. Sands’ staff must follow to ensure your optimum results, bringing the overall treatment to about one hour.
What are the side effects of tooth whitening?
Some teeth whitening patients may initially experience sensitivity to temperature changes in some foods and drinks, particularly those that are cold. However, the minor discomfort will not last more than a day or two. For individuals with a natural tendency towards tooth sensitivity, we recommend a toothpaste such as Sensodyne, developed for us by patients with this issue.
